BBSRC has been a member of Science Europe since its foundation in 2011.
Science Europe promotes the collective interests of its members, the European research funding organisations and the research performing organisations, and has supported their aims to develop and strengthen a coherent and inclusive European Research Area (ERA).
In order to achieve this, Science Europe works with the European universities, the European academies, the European scientific intergovernmental organisations and the European Commission.
Science Europe supports the work and cooperation of its member organisations at policy and activity level and ensures the establishment of the scientific community as a third voice in the ERA, together with the national governments and the European Commission. Science Europe provides a platform for dialogue with national ministers of research. It also delivers a coherent plan of action to ensure the greatest impact of current publicly funded research and innovation in Europe, as well as liaising with non-European research organisations.
