New round of Innovation Scholars Secondments: Biomedical Sciences opens

UKRI is launching a second round of the Innovation Scholars Secondments scheme.

The launch of Innovation Scholars Secondments: Biomedical Sciences follows the success of a pilot earlier this year.

Innovation Scholars aims to help people with research skills move between different sectors, such as academia, business, or the NHS.

The secondee can be at any career stage but must have relevant experience within their field.

Professor Rory Duncan, UKRI Director of Talent and Skills, said:

“There is terrific benefit in sharing people, their ideas and skills between different sectors, and in eroding ‘silos.’

“The Innovation Scholars Secondments scheme is actively enabling talented people to develop skills between academia, businesses and a variety of organisations. This benefits the organisations involved as well as developing the secondee and their career.”
