BBSRC asks for community input on data intensive bioscience

BBSRC is conducting a review of data-intensive bioscience research in 2019.

The ‘Forward Look for UK Bioscience’ recognises the importance of data-intensive research and this review will help strengthen BBSRC’s understanding of the research landscape in this area. By identifying current issues and future needs within the research community the review will ensure BBSRC is well positioned to support future requirements.

A questionnaire will collate the views of the community and provides an early-stage opportunity for input from across the biosciences community.

These perspectives and ideas will then be used to inform discussions at two subsequent workshops later this year, where issues and potential routes forward will be explored in greater depth. Recommendations from the review will help inform BBSRC’s future strategy and approach to supporting data intensive bioscience. A final report will published on our website.

The questionnaire comprises 20 questions and responses from individuals, departments, higher education institutes, learned societies, industry and other stakeholders are welcomed.

For more information, see: Review of data-intensive bioscience.

The questionnaire can be accessed via Key Survey: Data Intensive Bioscience Questionnaire (read our Terms of use: Key Survey).

The deadline for responses is 1 July 2019.
