Recruitment to the BBSRC Council of UK Research and Innovation

UK Research and Innovation is a new organisation that, from 1 April 2018, will work in partnership with universities, research organisations, businesses, charities, and government to create the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish. Each will be led by an Executive Chair who will be supported by a Council.

The Councils will have a pivotal role in ensuring the success of UK Research and Innovation, helping it to be the single, strong voice of UK research and innovation, and building on our world-leading reputation.

BBSRC is looking to appoint Council members from 1 April 2018. Council members will have a range of expertise and experience in research and innovation across higher education, industry and commerce, reflecting different characteristics and professional backgrounds.

BBSRC is seeking applications in the following areas;

  • Frontier bioscience (two vacancies)
  • Agri-food and agri-tech (two vacancies)
  • Bioscience for health (one vacancy)
  • Industrial biotechnology and bioenergy (one vacancy)
  • Advanced capabilities (infrastructure) (one vacancy)
  • Emerging technologies (one vacancy)
  • Data driven biosciences (one vacancy)
  • Pharmaceuticals (one vacancy)
