Organised by ESRC and BBSRC.

ESRC and BBSRC invite you to attend a one day dissemination event for the eight interdisciplinary projects funded via a joint call for research in the area of social and behavioural epigenetics in 2015.

Evidence shows that experiences in early life are linked to health and behavioural outcomes throughout our lives, but the ways in which these experiences become embedded are not fully understood. Epigenetic research allows us to look at the underlying factors of diverse human responses to environmental signals. These innovative, collaborative projects between biological and social scientists aim to understand the complex interactions between social phenomena, human biology and behaviour; and the impact of early life experiences on future health.

For further details about the ESRC/BBSRC epigenetics projects, please see: University of Bristol: Epigenetics and Social Science Network: An ESRC and BBSRC Initiative.

The showcase is aimed at a broad audience of academics, industrial representatives and policymakers. There will be presentations from the researchers leading the projects and delegates will be encouraged to debate the future of the area.
