If you are to be downgraded, your salary will be reduced to the equivalent salary level in the lower pay band. For example, if you were paid at Market Pay Point (MMP) you would move to MMP for the lower band; if at 110% of MPP you would move to 110% of MPP at the lower band. Exceptionally, management has the discretion to apply mark-time pay. This means that the salary is not reduced but is frozen until the equivalent salary for the lower band reaches the same level as the salary in payment. Downgrading is not the same as overbearing.
